Well the best I can do right now with limited information is just offer up my PayPal account for deposits and you can earmark Alan Knappenberger in the information box. Once we get the bank account going we can just stop the paypal and then move on to the bank account. I will pick up all the fees that are associated with using the PayPal account for donations as my donation.

Alan, of course, will be very humble and say he doesn't need it but in reality he does. He already has a son with significant health issues even before all this happened and he also takes care of elderly parents. I swear I use to wonder how he did as much as he did with only 24 hours in a day. His one huge stress reliever was scuba diving.

Thank you & I wanted to bump your e-mail/paypal account ;)

I heard from Alan's wife Bonnie today. He's better and they may take the chest tube out and move him out of ICU tomorrow and into a regular room by Friday.
He will most likely be there in the hospital for 10 more days. Yes, I said 10 days. :shakehead:
When they do release him he will not be able to fly back because of the collapsed lung injury so they will travel by car.
Bonnie says he's "real" sore. He still has short term memory problems and does not remember things he thinks he should and that ticks him off.
"But that's just Alan", Bonnie says. :D

Joseph is doing better too and they expect to release him days before Alan.

So there you go ............

After getting beat up like he did, I'm not sure that a little short term memory loss isn't a good thing. Good to hear he's doing better, though.

I just got back from the Maverick-Knicks game at the AAC and checked the balance in the PayPal account. You guys are amazing! We have $595.00 donated now. :jumping::grouphug:

Folks, we haven't even been collecting for 12 hours yet. WOW. It just shows how much this community can come together. Especially for someone like like Alan.

I just sent my money, Debra.

We are up to $705! I have posted in the Causes and Solicitations forum on Scubaboard and also on The Deco Stop. I am going over to Scubatoys forum right now also. Good job everyone!!!

I've always said the most dangerous thing about the diving I do is the drive to get there and back.

Glad to hear there is some improvement
