They distribute only the immigration form on American, but getting the custom form while in line gives you something to do while you wait ... and wait ... and wait. ;-)
My experience has been that when I haven't preprinted the form, the line is short and I have to jump out to complete the form. If I have the form, the line is long. 😊

Suggest you check the customs form -- or inform me! -- as it says on the website that you cannot print/use the one online. They distribute only the immigration form on American, but getting the custom form while in line gives you something to do while you wait ... and wait ... and wait. ;-)
I just used the printed online customs form 2 weeks ago and I will use in again in little over a week.

Yes you can.
Flew in on AA April 2, with the new version of the customs form that I'd filled out and printed.
It was accepted without issue.
They had lots of immigration and customs forms on that flight.

I flew in on WEDS with the online printed customs and immigration forms, no issue at all. AA did have both form available on the flight. That wasn't the case the last time we flew in a few months ago.

Even if you get thru Immigration quickly, you'll have plenty of time waiting on luggage before you go thru Customs.

Does it matter if the FMM form and customs declaration is printed out in black and white on one page as opposed to color? I also noticed that the customs form done online looks different from the one handed out on the airlines.

I always print it black and white
I always print it in color.
There are a couple customs forms. The last two times I've used the new one despite the AA stewardess telling me that it would not be accepted. I think that there's a learning curve in play.

This is the one that I'm calling the "new one": Inicio
