I received my wetsuit today. And with the correct size, it fits well. Go figure, huh?

As I stated previously, the construction looks good. Pulled at the seams, and everythiing held nicely, no gaps or anything of that nature. Of course, the weak points of wetsuits tend to be at the zippers, but the Triple-L suit looks good there too.

One thing I particularly like is the long zippers in the arm and legs. Facilitated doffing and donning the suit.

I was hoping to get it wet this weekend, but that doesn't seem like a possibility anymore. Within a couple of weeks, I'll have a test run and give an update. But giving the price and the great customer service, I am very happy with the suit.

I definately have to agree that Jack gives awesome customer service... I've been impressed.

I have taken the 5mil wetsuit on three dives, over two days, and have been very happy with the performance. The fit is great, especially for a basic neoprene suit. And movement is easy and non restrictive.

For the price, the Triple-L wetsuit has exceeded my expectations. The best deal on any scuba purchase that I have made.

Since a fellow boardmember was interested in how things were going, I thought that I would share how my Triple-L wetsuit has been holding up.

So far, it has been on 10 dives now, over 5 days, and I am still happy with the suit.

After dive #4, I noticed some minor pilling (localized wear) in one of the shoulders/underarms. And now after dive #10, there is slight pilling on both shoulders and on my right hip. As a comparison, my dive buddy's Hendersen hyperstretch has minor pilling on one of the shoulders. This is all very minor wear at this point.

All the dives have been fresh water dives, and there is a about a 5-10 minute hike down from the staging area to the lake. Of course, the hike up the stairs at the end of the day feels much longer than that. I have been diving a Ranger with steel 95 and no add'l weight.

While I think that the wear on the wetsuit is acceptable, I am curious on other people's experience.

I also just received my new 3mm jumpsuit.

The suit:
Good Points: Pretty good as far as I can tell. Looks well made. The zips seem sturdy. The seams are well stitched. I used their size charts and it fits perfectly!
Bad Points: There are no little Velcro strips on the ankle and wrist zippers to keep the zips in place. The stitching does feel a little "coarse" on the inside but that can only be fixed by me toughening up!
Overall: Good suit. Unbelievably good value for money!

Triple L's Service:
Fantastic! After I first ordered the suit I discovered that USPS had confused Japan with Great Britain for some reason and sent them there. No big deal, mistakes happen. Jack Cummins at Triple L did exactly the right thing. Rather than waiting for the suits to come back from England, he sent out some other suits from the warehouse and they arrived to me in Japan 3 days later! All communication with Triple L was answered promptly.

Overall:

Good suit, Great Service, Amazing Price.

I’ll definitely buy more things from Triple L if I need them!

A couple of questions- shipping for a custom suit is $55? The story I got from their sales dept is that custom suits aren't really any more to make, even though they charge a 15% premium but it would add 2-4 weeks to delivery time. Divegeek-if you are a std. size why would shipping a custom even matter? Triple-L does stock most stuff (web store lists unit in stock) and they ship UPS from Chicago for $12.50.

The custom suits are made in Vietnam and shipped to the US. The standard sizes they stock in the US. Hence the price differential...

Jack (Triple-L) :

dropped you a PM !

I just sewed a bellows pocket on my Triple-L 3mil shorty - http://www.kidspot.org/personal/scubaboard/small/pocket3.jpghttp://www.kidspot.org/personal/scuba/diy/- my friends liked the quality of the suit (not my sewing though) enough that 3 of them are ordering one - actually the four of us are ordering together, I am going to pick up one of their titan bags for my gear. I've ordered several items from them and have been quite happy with the quality of all of them - Actually I've been using my triple-l surface marker when I go snorkeling lately as I've been taking a lot of new snorkelers with me - works great to get them started until they relax (sortta like one of those pool noodles) once they are comfortable I deflate it and stick it back in my pocket - plus if they panic I can just reinflate it in 1 big breath, reach it out to them and they calm down again.
