Is the $55 a direct quote from Triple-L? If the cost of shipping a custom suit from Vietnam is $55 then the cost of shipping a standard suit from Vietnam is also $55 since they are both made in the same facility. Being that they sell std. sized suits for less than $55 something doesn't add up. Ask them if they can toss your custom in the can with the next batch of standard sizes. I have had some limited dealings with them so far but they have been as quick to respond, and in a very favorable way, as almost anyone I've dealt with.

Gentlemen,

Thought I might jump in here with a word of explanation.
We keep a stock of stanfard-sized wetsuits on hand in our warehouse in Chicago, USA and shipping is free ($12.59 S&H applies). BUT, as explained in our website, if you need a custom-made suit, it must be manufactured for the customer at our factory in Vietnam and shipped to him/her from there. Hence the increase in shipping cost. And since it's a custom-made suit and it would be a real pain if we lost it in shipping, we want to use a courier service such as UPS/FedEx/DHL to ship it for reliability and tracking. Hope this clear up the shipping question. And, if I may be so b old to point this out, I think you'll find the prices for even a custom-made suit AND the shipping costs from the factory are still lower then most standard made wetsuits you can get from our competition.

As a side note to busraider1 above, the main reason our products cost less is simply because you are buying DIRECT from the OEM with no middlemen markups in between.

A couple of questions- shipping for a custom suit is $55? The story I got from their sales dept is that custom suits aren't really any more to make, even though they charge a 15% premium but it would add 2-4 weeks to delivery time. Divegeek-if you are a std. size why would shipping a custom even matter? Triple-L does stock most stuff (web store lists unit in stock) and they ship UPS from Chicago for $12.50.
I had heard in another post that their suits ran very small, so I was concerned about buying a stock suit without trying it on. That' why the custom suit. I also thought that custom would be cool. I still ordered the bag and a hood. I may order a custom for my 16 year old son, as a stock medium is too tall for him

Our suits conform to standard sizing as seen on our wetsuit sizing charts on the website.

I just received my wetsuit, and they do run small with regards to the sizing provided on the web site.

According to the size chart for the men's wetsuit, I should be a small. However, when I tried it on, there was no way I was going to fit. Couldn't even zipper it up.

As you can imagine, this will have to be a return. Waiting to see if the $35 "re-stocking" fee applies.

Otherwise, it looks like a nice wetsuit. Good construction.

Okay, I am impressed with Jack Cummins and Triple-L's customer service. I think this was the first time ever that a vendor has said, "it was our fault."

Almost immediately after I posted this message was I contacted by Jack. He found my email, and sent out a medium sized wetsuit this morning. Talk about fast turnaround time, especially considering most of the discussions happened after regular business hours.

It appeared that there were two sizing charts online. And depending on where you looked, you could get the correct size or the incorrect size. And of course, I picked the incorrect sizing chart.

Not only did Triple-L not charge a restocking fee, but they are also paying for return shipping. Definitely the proper way to do business. Of course, this only means I'll order more from them in the near future.

I am considering buying one of their wetsuits. Can you be more specific about the size charts so that I do not make the same mistake?

Sure, the correct sizing chart is the one available through the online store:
http://store.triple-l.biz/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=TDGWS&Category_Code=SZ

You'll see that the wetsuit chart has "Revised 05/31/04". This was the one that I was pointed to to get my updated sizing.

If in doubt on where you fall within the chart, I would use the 'Live Chat' functionality on the website. Doesn't hurt to double check with someone.

Anyone had any experience with Triple L's BCD's?

The old sizing chart has been removed from our other website (www.triple-l.biz) so as not cause further confusion. Use the revised one mentioned herein.
