One of the problems with this is that we don't know enough about how human growth and physiology is related to pressure. It is not just a matter of whether or not a child of that age has the maturity or skills needed for such dives. There is some thinking that higher pressures may be harmful to growing bones. That thinking may be totally erroneous, but there is no good evidence either way that I know of. I am about to certify my grandson as a junior diver. I will not be pushing him to deep dives until I am sure it is safe to do so.
