JJCCR or AP Inspiration

Im looking to get certified on a CCR in about the next 2 yrs. Im looking in the future to get into cave diving and deco open water diving. Should i go JJ or Inspiration?

The answer is the same, you need way more OC experience than 24 dives.

Also AP units are more and more rare to find and train on in the US. YBODs have been eclipsed by other options here nowadays. Revo, Meg, JJ, XCCR, Liberty even SF2 sales are all probably higher than AP in the US in 2024.

How many dives have you completed? What is your current experience level? Have you completed any decompression dives? Have you done any cavern or cave dives? It's fine to look at different units and compare available instructors, but if you have not completed the necessary OC training, then you have no idea what factors to look for in a particular unit for the particular dives you are saying you want to do. CCR cave diving can be VERY different than open water deco diving, and many people have different units for each.

Ay not due to lack of skill but to lack of time diving rebreathers that continues to tick away

Have you looked at DiveTalk Go CCR? That might a good intro unit.

Never mind YBOD. I wouldn’t say that JJ is a great unit for tight caves. You might want to post a couple targets that you want to dive and where are you with your diving right now.

The answer is quite simple: You can do cave diving with both units, no problem. They are backmounted, so not for very tight restrictions. But both will do the job and both will work more or less the same.
The difference is just the brand. So you drive a Mercedes or a Vauxhall. Both will bring you from A to B. The rest is personal. So take the one that fits best in your opinion of availability for training and money.
I have done a lot of cavedives on my Inspiration.

Im looking to do caves in the future but i am only open water deco diving right now. I would only use the CCR for deco diving for a little bit just to get comfortable on it
