Hello Beanojones,

If you are just rebuilding your own regulators every now and then, small units like those are fine. Remember, you will first take apart your regulator first and second stages so most of the parts will be small and if they do not fit all the way into the pot, they can be turned over.

Don't know if you have a Harbor Freight near you but looks like they have the same one branded differently for a lot less.

or I have this one, the cans of my double hose will fit in it.

Yes that big ones the one for me. If the cans of a double hose fit in it, nothing from a single hose won't.

Do they have those in stock at the shops? Or is some of their stuff web only?

I picked mine up locally, actually carried my DH cans in to make sure they would fit. :)

Thanks for the tips. I went to harbor freight and got the jumbo one. Noww the question is do you guys buy the reg cleaning solution or do you just use Joy and vinegar?

50/50 white vinegar and water for steel and brass parts, if you have any aluminum parts keep them out of the acid bath. For really corroded parts, warming the vinegar solution will speed the process. I just hand scrub plastic parts with a tooth brush and dish soap. Rubber parts the I put in my mouth are scrubbed with tooth paste and a tooth brush....smells and taste better than soap. :)
You can segragate small parts by making indivigual baskets out of the throw away type you get at the grocery. I think they are called "gladware". They come in a bunch of different sizes, are inexpensive and plenty tough. Just put a few holes in them so they fill and drain.

Someone here posted using Saltaway to soak regulators. I had previously used Oceanic's proprietary regulator cleaning solution, white vinegar, and other sundry products to clean regs.
I dropped a particularly nasty frozen-up corroded-up 1st stage in a bowl of dilute Saltaway - the dilution ratio is something like 512:1, and it cleaned up nicely. No acid, no ultrasonic cleaner. You can soak for as long as you want.
Any marine supply store worth its salt will have this on the shelves for about $11.
