How long did you leave the regs in the Salt-Away? I just broke down some regs and they did not clean up so well with the Salt-Away but the 50-50 vinegar got them done fast.

I mixed up a solution probably way more concentrated than necessary and just left the stuff in there for a few hours. 50/50 vinegar will work a lot faster, but after it salvaged the nasty 1st stage that I had put off repairing for a few years, I'll stick with the Saltaway.
I probably should have soaked the regs for longer, but it was raining, I was bored, couldn't work outside, so I just started overhauling my gear.
I don't know about leaving it in there for days, but it won't hurt rubber or plastic parts.
It would get a little expensive running it through my outboards like it's designed for, but the small bottle will last for years just doing regs.

A couple hours... OK, I did not leave it in long enough.

I'm about to do another set, and I will leave them in longer. Since it does not hurt o-rings and such (the bottle says it does not, like you said), I could leave them in for awhile. I am used to worrying about the acid of muriatic or vinegar etching old parts.
