After 140 dives from 1975 to 1985, I got out of diving until now -- and I just got the bug again. I had my old Poseidon Cyclon 300 serviced, but the tech sez it's pretty delicate, so maybe I'll update my gear.

There's a guy who might sell me his Atomic Aquatics Ti2 Titanium second stage with an Atomic B1 first stage and a Mares Nikos octopus. Would $400 be a good deal? Anything wrong with that rig? I'd appreciate any advice you might offer. The new array of regulators is bewildering.

Thanks!

KEEP THE CYCLON... If your tech out there doesnt want to service it, send it to me and I will service it for you... Thats a great reg, and you should not have to upgrade unless you want to...
Your cyclon probably needs all new diaphragms and of course, a full overhaul, but it shouldnt be over about $30-45 in parts... Let me know what you want to do... PM me, and I can give you my address where to ship it to, if you want me to service it for you...

Good Luck...

Heck, for that, I'd buy it and keep it as a backup reg (assuming it's in good shape). I'd say $400 was a great deal.

There is nothing on your poseiden that can't be fixed. They work great and retain their value much more than other regulators.

There are several places to have it serviced correctly,

I will keep using the Cyclon. I loved it 20 years ago, so I'm sure I'll still enjoy it. The tech said he installed better parts than were available when it was new and that it should breathe even better now. I guess I'll buy the Atomic for my wife, who is taking her basic certification class this weekend.

This message board is really great. You guys saved me hours of plunging around the web. Thanks!
