Totally agree with all the points here.
Ask yourself if you rather dive for fun n see stuff like sharks, mantas, colorful fishes and enjoy warm waters or do you want to plow the depths for wrecks and challenging dives etc, etc?
Being land locked as you said, travel can be a real pain with all the tech gear n basically you're paying to suffer a bit LOL!
I would say take the DIR fundies n if that appeals to you, after there are many other schools to learn from.
Tech is for those who "I don't need no stinking clown fish, cudas, turtles, colorful corals... bla, bla. I want to go DEEPER!"
