i tried a 3mm full (no hood) last january in florida bay near tavernier snorkeling for lobster -- less than 5 min and i gave up freezing...

We decided not to go because of the "cold". That being said viz was reported to be 100 feet Spiegel and 50 feet snapper reef. one foot less of seas!!

LOL! I'm fairly new to scuba diving but I used to surf in 30 degree weather in a shorty. Freezing but doable. Then again that was twenty years ago.

That is impressive. Crazy but impressive.

Keep in mind that when you're diving your entire body is submerged for roughly an hour at a stretch. Water conducts heat well (duh). You can lose a lot of body heat. If you do several dives in a day, by the last dive you can feel chilled sooner than you would on the first dive. Even in the SUMMER in Key Largo, I will wear a full 3/2. Sure it's a bit uncomfortable topside in 100 degree heat, but underwater as I reach the 50 minute mark on my last dive of the day I'm glad I'm wearing it.

Wow, stellar viz! BUT .... Bbbbrrrrrrrr too cold.

I bought a dry suit last year. Now to figure out how to dive with it!

Diving Jupiter this weekend and will be wearing the 6.5 semi-dry :coffee:

Going to crystal river for manatee snorkeling. Taking my 6.5 semi-dry for that. Last year, 30 degree air, 70 degree water, 3 hours in, never got cold at all. Never even got wet, really, What an amazing suit! Conditions should be about the same this year.

Tried the suit at BHB with 60 degree air and 74 degree water and was way too hot.

We dove Key Largo with Rainbow Reef Divers Jan 12 & 13. I dove in 3m full and husband in 5m full. I would have been happier in a 5m full. My computer logged 71 degrees at 43 feet our deepest dive. There were some pretty cold thermals off Molasses Reef. These were our first Atlantic Dives.
