What sort of reputation is this little dive trip going to give me, secret quarter hiding places, drinking coronas while diving.....
That's it I'm either never going to lead another trip or the next one will be even more outrageous.

You know, Wendy... I want so badly to make fun of your vertical posture in the picture, but I can't see past your beer.

I was in a vertical fissure with very high flow (notice no bubbles from my reg, they were getting pushed back behind me), so my legs are behind me, just the top half of me was being pushed upwards by the flow. I thought I was doing pretty good considering that I had to stay still for the pick. Talk to me again after you have dived the Ear and tell me again how my trim is.
Besides I was there to have fun and that's what I did.Oh and the corona was lacking a lime!

...And it's a smokin' current.
I remember two guys coming out of the Ear, who were very DIR. They had been there quite a while, and were diving (if I remember correctly) singles with Y-adapters and each had a pair of stages to bring the right amount of gas. I believe they didn't wear double back gas because they wouldn't have fit in the 'Ear!
Anyway, they both came out of the 'Ear and immediately set themselves atop that log that crosses the 'Ear... As in, then deflated completely and rested on top of that log! So much for trying to maintain perfect buoyancy!

I remember posing for pictures at the bottom of the 'Eye while kneeling on the sand. And I had no excuse... There was no current in the 'Eye!

My left hand is raw from having to hold on to that rock from the flow. Every time I would turn my head into it, my reg would free flow.
It's beyond me how those cavers get into there without scooters.

There are secrets to getting into the Ear, aww, but I'll keep them secrets.
(I'm going to regret saying this, NetDoc is bound to twist it into something perverted lol) but my faovorite part of diving the ear is going back between the lips. To me its the highest flow cuz of the small space, not much room. I have to pull and glide the entire time and i'm surprised my buddies haven't heard me grunt (it makes me feel better to do that, doens't help the situation). After my cave course my fingertips were swollen and bleeding. Limestone is rough stuff and after a weekend of caving when you are learning can be tough on you.

Well, I don't know too much about the "lips", as far as technique goes.
Butt I can say that Pete did exercise some nice technique in the Ear.
