As an update the ice pack this weekend was about 12 inches. Of that 10 inches was clear solid ice with abut 2 inches of mixed texture at the top. The ice has patched frozen snow cover making for easy sled pulling out to the Lady of the Lake. No keels were observed. The Lady is well.

Saturday was windy with just enough warmth and sun to make it a non issue. Sunday remained mild with no sun but much less wind.

A few years ago UDNH did their under ice dive on a day that was kinda drizzly and warm. The ice was thick enough but the snow cover turned to slush. The hole in the ice was actually covered by a few inches of cccccoooooolllllldddddd water and I have some pics of a couple of the UDNH members, in dry suits, kneeling in water at the edge.

Hi G.M., nice to hear from you.

I just went back to re-vist your guides to specialty diving and fung shway, good stuff.

I believe that this weekend is the Winni Ice Fishing Derby 2/9 and 2/10 so you might find a crowd if you try this weekend.
Any luck last week?
