Try scuba flea markets. Sometimes you can get tanks with fresh hydro for a song. I picked up 3 more LP72s last year for $50 total.

What is a scuba flea market?

It is where the cheap arse bastards like kwinter and myself buy our gear.

Seriously, some dive shops and such will have events where the locals all put their unwanted used dive gear for sale. It is usually in some parking lot and the prices are generally extremely fair.

We have some huge ones in the northeast, including the granddaddy at Toms River NJ coming up Feb 16. Been going for 25 years.

Got one at a garage sale for $20, needed hydro/viz but easily passed. Got another for $35 on craigslist and it also easily needed and passed a hydro/viz. I think the hydro viz was $40 each.

Purchased two AL 80's powder coated, from LDS for $220 each which included VIP and fill. No other perks. Could of gotten better price off the internet, but shipping, valve install and fill brought the price up over $200. Just figured to give LDS the business.
