I keep wondering how you're supposed to pick up a set of doubles. I don't personally know anyone with doubles and haven't dived with anyone who had any.

The obvious way seems to be to grab the manifold..

Using the manifold as a handle will bring you bodily harm!

Use two hands, one on each valve, or put one arm through the opening between the manifold and tank tops, then curl your other arm around the bottom of the tanks. Hold them to your chest.

Or, you use a handtruck :D

Or better yet wear them when possible. Never use the manifold for carrying.

That's exactly what I figured  I imagine it just looks so tempting though :p

Thanks for the info :)

It is OK to pick it up by one or both valves IF the bands are as tight as they should be.

And I do wear them whenever possible as well. OK, so it looks funny in the grocery store... it just shows you dedicated I am to the sport. :tease:

Look around and holler

Oh porter. Would you carry these for me please..

A friend of mine makes a simple handle out of Delrin that attaches to the bolts (wing attachment points).

Most of the guys I know diving double 104's use a hand truck or two people to move their doubles more than a couple of feet.

most of the guys you know must not include the diminutive Chickdiver. :D

But yes, I use a hand truck too... around the shop... unless it isn't handy.

Any chance you'll have that around at Gilboa?

I personally think that carrying one set of 104's in front with one hand per valve is tougher (for me) than carrying 2 sets (one at each side)... better balance.... short distances only, of course!
