I just went outside and took these pictures.
Yeah....I know I now open myself up to Scuba Board ridicule..... Do your best!

I squat in front of the tanks. Tilt them slightly away from you and hug the tanks (they like that).
Keep your back straight....hip drive up.....and your there.
This is an easy way to lift and carry them without jacking up your back. It also work well for carrying them longer distances.

If you are wearing a short sleeve shirt, then the friction from your arms aids in locking the tanks in place. Wearing a long sleeve shirt might let the tanks slip a little bit, or a lot, depending on the fabric of the shirt.

I can easily lift bigger steel doubles this way also. Steel 95's are kind of a hassle, because they are short.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

I really try to avoid setting them down on the ground. They go from the storage stand in my garage, to the truck tailgate, to the fill station- all wearing them bolted to the BPW. It's picking them up and putting them down on the ground that really tweaks my back.

Also like this portable stand for when I leave the doubles in a hotel room:

This thread is just about 10 years old....someone did some searching.

Anyhow, I bolt on the plate and carry mine on my back whenever possible. Otherwise I grab 'em by the valves, but I like pullmyfinger's method. Every tank needs a hug now and then.

Wow! Ten years. That might be a record for necro-posting.

This is really going to piss of 264132—or whatever his userid is—make his blood boil. Which is the point, I guess. Carry on.
