Download from computer and use Scubase software. Paper seems so fragile to me...but i'm in the Nintendo generation so paper was just something i learned about in school...like papyrus ;)

So I have my dives racked up in 4 places, its getting nuts, how do you log your dives?

I put basic information in a paper log book that I keep with me. When I down load info. from dive computer to PC I add detailed notes of the dive.

PADI log book as "signed" record
Oceanlog for downloads from DC
Diverecord.com
PADI online on top of those!

I'm checking into scubase to see if it could be a one for all solution...

I've got the Suunto Pro so I count on that for details.. (depth, time, temp, etc..) and then write it all in my log book after the dive and add site, etc..

While on the dive boat I scrawl down a few notes about things like dive site and air usage, and approximate profile using either scraps of paper or a waterproof notebook.

If I get around to it, later I'll extract things like dive start time, length of dive, max depth from the dive computer display, and then combine that with my earlier notes, recollections of critters and special events in a logbook. My log is part divelog, part journal, part travel guide; with info like dive op phone numbers, departure times, nitrox availability, etc.

If it's a dive in a shore location that I have been to often, the dive will probably be combined on the same page with other recent dives at that spot. Or maybe just not logged at all.

I do keep a very brief summary log in a word processing file. Entire trips with 20 or 30 dives get condensed to just a couple of lines. This mostly functions as a table of contents to point me to the right logbook when I'm looking for detailed info about a dive site or a dive charter operator.

Try scubase sofware. EXCELLENT product. It does everything I could ask of it and MORE. I believe they have a 30 day trial. http://www.scubase.net/

I also use scubase and really like it. It took a little getting used to - it's not set up in the most intuitive way (for me at least). Now that I've got the hang of it, it's great. It calculates/tracks/sorts everything I want to calculate, track and sort and makes detailed logging as easy as possible.

I voted Log Book as thats the primary place but I also import all dives from my ATOM to Scubase and let it calculate SAC and such. I also like the cute profile graph of the dive.
