Just an FYI, my Bare suit came with 3 small holes in the hood. At least now I know why.
Another happy member here on ScubaBoard.

I pu 3 small holes in my hood and no more conehead look, it works.

I had this same problem, I went to smaller mask, it solved the problem.

As her diving buddy, I can attribute to that claim. She did change her mask to a smaller volume one, and it worked for her.

I still use the same mask, just put in the 3 holes in the top of the hood at no extra cost and it worked.

We tried that, it was only a bandage. Her face was narrow, and the mask she had, she kept having problems. It was a solution for her by getting a narrower, lower volume mask.

The point is, whatever works for you.. every scenario is different and she was just merely suggesting something else.

Now if I could just get my mask to stop leaking, maybe I'll try a narrower mask too.

I'm going to have to go after my hood with my soldering iron, too.

During my class this weekend, I finished an air-share, went back to my primary reg, dropped the secondary and it free-flowed, filling my hood with air and my head went straight up. I am using this as the excuse for why I didn't pass the buoyancy requirement on that skill . . . hmmm -- on second thought, maybe I'd better not poke holes in the hood and lose the excuse.

Poke holes in your hood. At some point you would of had to equalized your mask at depth. When you ascend, the gas will expand. For most people, the air exits the mask and into the hood.
