Hood filling with exhailed air

Poke holes in your hood. At some point you would of had to equalized your mask at depth. When you ascend, the gas will expand. For most people, the air exits the mask and into the hood.
But as said before, do this with the hood off :D

That just takes all the fun out of it.
 
I've put holes in all of my hoods that weren't already made this way by the manufacturer. Rather than using a hot nail or a soldering iron, I simply used a punch and then coated the hole inside and out with a little aquaseal. The aquaseal wouldn't be a bad idea for those of you who have used the hot method just in case all the fibers weren't melted first time around......

Turn your hood around. The big opening goes on the front of your head.
