I wouldn't rule out SJ so quickly either. They're a gutsy team that fools a lot of folks. The AV's are tough, but they're going to need to be especiailly vigilant for this series.

I really and truly fear for hockey if there is a work-stoppage of any kind. I heard a local writer say the other day he thinks will last up to a year-and-a-half. I can't imagine it lasting that long. It would be tantamount to suicide for the NHL if it did. However, TV ratings for hockey here in the US are way down. I would be really surprised to see ABC renew its contract for hockey after it expires.

I think a year out is quite possible. The stakes are too high for both sides. I'm not worried about hockey, just worried what I'm going to do all next winter!

TV Ratings for hockey are down because they dont put friggin games on! FOX here puts on Tampa games and NASCAR most weekends, but you can almost forget during the week. And don't even try when a basketball game is on, watching gangly gargantuan people run around with their mouth open and squeaky shoes just doesn't cut it.. where are the fights?! And you can double forget it if there's a golf tourney to be broadcast - that supercedes everything here!
