I have heard mostly positive comments from people we shipped them to last week. Of course, everyone remarks on how small they are, but I have not had anyone complain that this causes them a problem. I have had several people tell me that they lay very nicely against the rig when using brass and glass gauges clipped off properly.

Phil outfitted me in ALL Miflex. I've now got my singles rig and my doubles rig with Miflex on everything. The HP Miflex is tiny but like previous posters have said, a little caveline with a good knot tied off directly to the SPG does the trick. The 6" HP makes setting up deco bottles a easier than bending the old thick rubber hose around.

Docc, email me a picture your your deco bottle that shows the gauges with the 6" hose. Thanks.

Phil:

The pictures were too big a file to email so I sent you a PM with a link to my photobucket page. Give me a call if you have any problems viewing or copying them.

Do you need, or would it be a good idea to have, and do they even make a hose protector (at the 1st stage connection) for the HP hose?

The size of these new hoses is just amazing. I can't justify upgrading to the new hoses until one of mine gets a leak.... or maybe I should just leave them out in the sun for a while and let them dry rot :)

Will the Miflex HP hose work with my Suunto console with an Suunto SM 36 pressure gauge? I have Miflex on all my LP hoses and really like them and am interested changing out my HP hose if it will work with my console

One issue I have with the 5' Miflex on my primary reg is that it floats. It seems to prefer resting against the lower edge of my regulator rather than laying down below my neck. There could be a number of reasons for this. Maybe it's just the way the hose is curved.

Then again, I'm just playing with the 5' thing. I walked away from it once before and I may again. For the type of diving I do, the 5' hose is probably a solution to a problem I don't have.

I'll try one of the HP hoses - just for giggles.
