Here's an email I got from John Chatterton fom Deep Sea Detectives. Man, what an awesome dude! He sure made my day by giving me all that encouragement.
Take care and safe diving! :scubadive

Matt,
Actually, you are wrong. It is you, who are my hero!! The value of any
achievement is directly relative to the obstacles that have to be
overcome. Not much in the way of obstacles means not much in the way of
achievement, and of course more so the other way.
I am absolutely amazed by your story and your drive. I have been to
your
websites, and even purchased one of your T-shirts. Although the History
Channel generally does not like promotional type apparel, I will wear
it
on TV when we go back to shooting new shows this summer. I don't think
HC will mind???? I will keep you posted.
Susan Long is one of the nicest people in the diving industry. Largely,
she got that way from watching her father, Dick. They are both truly
wonderful people and I am not surprised that you count her among your
friends. You can tell her I said hello.
I am off to Palau tomorrow, to dive on the wreck of the USS Perry in
about 260 fsw. When I get back, I am home for a couple of days (2) and
then I am off to Akumal in the Yucatan, to get certified on a new
rebreather called the "Ouroboros", from the UK. After that, Richie
Kohler and I are off on a 3 week book signing tour for Shadow Divers
with the author, Rob Kurson. I know we are up in the Great Lakes in
June, but don't have a specific schedule yet. If we get the
opportunity,
maybe we can stop by and see you, if that is okay with you???
I am so flattered that you are interested in the book, and DSD. I am
truly inspired. I am sending you a little something, to give back a
little of that inspiration.
Cheers
