What town are you staying in? Right now I’m watching the Sakonnet River (not really a river, for those of you not familiar with it) rock’n and a roll’n with a couple of sailboats bobbing up and down.

Lucked out so far, knock on wood, it's 11:50 am still have power. Wind still gusting but rain has subsided for now. I prepped on Friday due to work on Saturday, got generator running and filled, have an additional 20 gallons gas in reserve. Put new chain on chainsaw and tuned it up.
Got home from work this am, got my swiftwater rescue gear ready in case our team gets activated.

South coast we had all the wind, everywhere else had the rain.

In this part of RI where the eye passed over about 1pm all is quite no wind the trees are still, maybe some rain. No power but that'll be all day Monday probably. CT had a lot of flooding Wood River in front of me hasn't flood, yet. It keeps rising for 12 hours after the rain stops. Good luck!
UPDATE 8-23-21 Still no power maybe Wed AM probably sooner. We have a lot of pickup sticks and leaves to rack but no trees down. I'm going to use the occasion of the outage to trim/cut some trees from near the line that runs from the street to my pole. If one falls on the lines at least it'll be dead and I can call the NATGRID and have them put the line back up, blame the storm it'll be all cut up by the time they get here.
We haven't tried to leave the plat yet, there are 3 roads out to one road that has several options that can be used to get into town. Some people on other plats were stuck this AM by trees and power lines. We'll find out. Brewed coffee on the propane camp stove in the SS percolator MMmmm Good.
We've used 9gals of fuel so far and got 15.5 hours of runtime.
I put 5gal in at 6:30AM, it continues to run. We had hot water this AM! The silver colored insulated space blanket looking wrap around the hot water heater is working! Hope everyone is well!

With the big tides, the vis will clear up pretty quickly.

The big tides drag more $hit back into the sea from the shore, sometime from people's lawns complete with whatever they spread on the lawn. This the 3rd direct hit "hurricane" I've experienced and not the 1st to have big tides during and after the event. I don't see any reason this event is going to be any different than the last two. I don't expect any improvement soon. I hope you are right and am I wrong, I'd like to do some diving soon myself.
Offshore will cleanup sooner but the good sites like Kings Beach will be garbage for weeks. FTW will be also be a mess even down into the deeper parts around the outside. This crap just ruins the shallows. I wonder if the sub moved? It does shift/roll a little sometimes and artifacts can be found in the newly uncovered sand.

That's not why the water stays crappy after a big storm. It's the runoff that's the issue. Most of the bigger systems dump 4-5+ inches of rain and it takes a while for the water table to drain off back to normal levels. This was a relatively mild system for New England with nowhere near the rain NY/CT saw. The next time we have any unfavorable wind for the south coast looks like a full week from now so the combo of the big tides and mild conditions should help tremendously.
I didn't stay at a holiday inn but I did just walk down to my dock for almost high tide and it's looking not horrific.
