I need a helmet for diving. I want to attach lights while working under water, nothing more, nothing less. I tried thsi one Temu | Explore the Latest Clothing, Beauty, Home, Jewelry & More it did not work at all. Without helmet my neck slightly touches the valve's handwheel (d8.5 lt steel, DIR manifold) when in normal diving position. So far so good. But the helmet has a distance of about 3cm to my neck so it's very disturbing, I can not bend my head back.

No, my gear is OK. Cylinders are in the lowest position, I will not change anything on that.

I need another kind of helmet. It must lay directly on my hood, no padding in between. And I think it will even be necessary to cut out the helmet in my neck.

Years ago I used a child's icehockey helmet. I took out the padding and it fitted well. But todays child's helmets are much more soffisticated, I don't know if I can clear them out without destroying.

Any ideas? Thanks

Just for reference, my iso-valve does not touch my neck/head in normal diving position, only when looking up or if I'm in negative trim trying to look forwards. One possible suggestion there, even if you didn't ask for it: what orientation is the iso valve? Is it pointing directly towards your head? Have you considered pointing it more "upwards" (in line with the tanks)?

Second unsolicited question/advice/whatever:
Are you solo diving? Head mounted lights can be a real pain in the ass for buddies.

Third:
How about mounting the light to your mask strap or some kind of bungee head mount instead of a helmet? Like a normal head lamp used for running/skiing etc?

1. Valve's handwheel pointes upwards, inline with tank. Cylinders are double 8.5 lt, very thin, they are closer to my body anyway than double 12.

2. Yes solo diving and solo working.

3. Attaching to the mask strap is no option. I want to be able to change the mask in a few seconds. And lamps bumping around on a mask strap is no what I want. Bungee mount is a good idea but still I prefere a helmet. I can easily put on an off the helmet under water, lamps are always in the perfect position. Perhaps I want to add more lamps or a different kind of lamp, on a helmet this works fine. If I want to focus the lamp I must turn the lamp's head which is easy to be done by one hand if the lamp is well fixed on a helmet. On a bungee this will not work, I will need 2 hands.

I bought a used Petzel climbing helmet and pulled out the padding. Perfect.

Razor and Light Monkey will not work. They both have an adjustable suspending which brings the helmet far away from my neck. Same problem I already have.

Childrens sizes dude and over a hood!

Isn't the helmet to large without padding? What head size do you have?

yeah I grabbed a couple of kids skateboard helmets from the junk shop and pulled out the polystyrene

Cylinders are in the lowest position

Does this mean the bands are in the highest position
