PerroneFord... I just looked at the RED. With a sensor that captures so many pixels, I assume it would be pretty poor under low light conditions such as underwater. Am I wrong?

Very wrong. It has better low light operation than anything I've ever seen. I was amazed. There is a reason they have 2 years of backorder. And the thing still won't do on-camera audio. No one cares. Of course, filmmakers don't shoot audio onto film anyway...

Then I truly am impressed!

By the way, can end users replace the HDD's in the camcorders that have them? If so, having a backup HDD would be a good idea when traveling. My guess is that you can't, but they certainly could make it relatively easy to do if they wanted to.

.......
Although a good HD system wild dazzle your friends, I assume you would be converting the HD footage to something easier to stream on your web site. I could be wrong on that though.....

You can watch internet HD streamed video at the Divx Stage 6 site. It looks awesome.

For a 1st timer I can see going SD, but to upgrade from SD to another SD cam doesn't make sense to me, especially if you dive clear waters.
