Thanks @Dan. The Mantis Hunt video was great too!

Here's my first video, shot with an AcePro, no lights, and post-produced using Insta360 Studio. Comments welcome.

One editor thats not noted in this thread is Corel Video Studio, what Im using at the moment. one time purchase only, easy enough to learn to use (they also have their own in house video tutorials). Its consumer grade but plenty of powerful enough for 90% of people who would use it.

Do they update the software often enough to keep it competitive with the other options?

Their "ultimate" version is only a one time $100.

My first dive video and first time diving with an action cam, DJI OSOMO Action 4. DJI has MIMO and LightCut software for editing however it is on a phone only and much too small to easily scrub through clips. I used DaVinci Resolve to produce this video. This is pretty much out of camera with no color grading (Resolve is very good at color grading if you put in the time to learn how).

Cant say I have had any complaints so far. I have had several updates to the software for free. Obviously the updates wont last forever without having to pay for the next version. But I have been using it for the last couple of years and cant say have had the urge to update it with a different software. It does everything I need it to do and does so much more on top. Great bang for the buck

Your video is ok but the spot lights ruines some part of it. You should buy a wide angle light. Also, sorry, the music 🙄 Choosing the music is difficult as it is something most people just don't know anything and don't have the feeling to make a good mix between images and sound.

Davinci Resolve is not so difficult to learn and, as a free software, is difficult to beat. I used Premiere before but now, as it is more difficult to crack and we have to pay a steep price, I think Davinci Resolve does the job very well for a non pro software

Thanks for the feedback. I totally agree that the spot light should not be used.
After returning from that trip I bought a tray and two wide angle lights, but have not tried them yet.

Just curious as to why you'd never use Premier. Have you had bad experiences in the past, or do you feel like it's too complicated for what you need?
A couple of reason
- Resource requirement was too high for the computer that I used when I started making video
- I'd look at some tutorial on YT and it seems too complicated for what I need at that time.
- Cost was also an issue.
