Brad, just saw your report. You've been a diving fool lately. Who did you go out with today?

The Sugar Barge isnt much of a dive, Ill agree with that.
What I like about it is the history and the story behind the wreck, and actually being in the spot where the history took place. Someone died on this wreck.
The last time I was there I found a few crab claws to snatch and a 4lb soft weight.

Taking advantage of every chance. Today's boat dive was, like a couple weeks ago, poopie. Those damn cold fronts come in and churn everything up and create nice 4-6 footers.

MoteMan, jridg, and Da Nizz were all scheduled to head out.
Nizz overslept, we waited a brief hour, he ran all over town for a fill, started to load up and....FORGOT his BC! Guess who didn't make the boat.
Well, it was for the better. Viz sucked. Waves rolled. 13 min of underwater time logged up. MoteMan said "Viz needs to be at least 5' and never left the boat.
The missus threw it back at me and said "A bad day of diving sure beats a great day at work, right."
All in all, GOT WET!

Sorry to hear about your bad day in the gulf Brad. The Pompano trip III and I were on was AWESOME!
Donny has already posted some pics and I will post some more a little later.
Water temp was a nice 76!

You'll be very disappointed w/ the Sugar Barge. I read about it several years ago in Underwater FL and happened to be staying on Anna Marie for a holiday weekend. It's only 20' deep or so, so I swam out and free dove it. All that's left is a triangular shaped piece of metal about the size of a Volkswagon. Not very exciting. You'll be much better off diving just down the street at Spanish Rocks. Of course if you just want to rack up some dive time, you can do both.

John

Thanks for the info. My local dive shop in MD went on a trip to venice last year and absolutely loved it, so ive been wanting to check it out.

I had some awesome dives off JAX a couple years ago. I would love to dive there again! If you are serious, let me know.

Heck no! That is unless you want to be the chum for the Great White ;):rofl3:
