Stay away from the PADI course. I could teach it, but refuse to. The course isn't designed properly. PADI is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

The TDI manuals must be different in the US to the UK - I thought they were nonsense but fortunately had a good instructor on hand to translate.....

I was going to ask if GUE did O/W but I guess that has been answered. I would imagine that currently most GUE types were at least originally certified by another agency and are best off carrying the most appropriate card from that agency as well. Also I suspect most GUE people travel in packs and charter a boat if they want do do anything other than general recreational plopping.

Just my opinion as I am not GUE but if I want to do any deco diving I tend to go with mates that are into that as well.
