Your park system is a fine one. I work part time as a Ranger for a park system not too far from you and appreciate the work everyone has put in to make White Star a fine park. I don't know what the other parks are like in your county, but WS is really nice. The quarry itself is probably one of the best around. Too bad they don't have hot showers and better camp sites. I think that a quarry the size of WS could rake in the money if they offered more ammenities. Also if someone put up a small hotel or bed and breakfast closer to the quarry I believe they'd make a lot of money, too.

One complaint... I got a short air fill on my HP E-120 tank! But that's not any fault of the park or it's staff. Oh well, I'll check it closer next time.
I think a restaurant closer would be nice.
The camping closer would help, but really, I'm not that concerned there. It's just across the street. I can drive. :)

And I really like that quarry. I wish it were deeper. But other than that, I'd like to see more people camping. I like large groups of friendly divers. :10:

But Randy, just how much air do you need?

The park is quite remote..

Penney, Penney, Penney, I need more air than you can imagine. When I think of you, I can't seem to get enough of the stuff, and what man on earth can dive without thinking of the Princess of Diving Divas? Who, I ask you?? ;)

Harvey's Apple Dumpling restaurant is next door to the campground. How much more closer do you want one? I highly recommend that place for breakfast.

White Star gets my vote.

hey Ray, I noticed that you make your own beer. Kewel! I used to brew quite a few batches a year also. In fact, I had an all grain brewery set up in my basement one time. I used 3 SS beer kegs for a 3 stage micro brewery using all grain. I miss it but don't miss the clean up.

Do you have good batches ageing at the moment?

:blinking: Why Randy, you handcuff toting devil you....

Now does this restaurant have a non-smoking section or is it like being fumigated just to eat there? I'm thinking carryout.........

Ditto! Close, quick, good eats and COFFEE!!!!

The town is 2 minutes away, Tom's III (Joe's, or some other short name) has bar type dinner food, and there's a drive through liquor store.

Randy - No, I dont' have any brew going on right now. I just might have to start a batch soon, though.

Paula - I think you mean Jeff's II bar. They serve pizza and sandwiches. There's also a Subway in town, and another restaurant called Oogies, which also serves pizza and sandwiches. So I hope you guys like pizza and sandwiches.

yes...lol... that's an independant operator that leases space from the park... If my buddy and I ever decide to sell air, nitrox, or mix from our fill station to the public, maybe I could take care of that problem for you.

Until then... be sure to buy an extra cylinder as backup! :D

There's a "diner"/ice-cream stand across the street from the quarry Princess.
