Hi all,
Thought I would stick my head in here. Is there room on this trip for newbie divers?? Has the date and place been decided yet? My wife and I are considering coming along, but we may also be diving the Bonne Terra Mines the weekend prior.
Can someone tell me about these trips? Do you all campout? Is there a charge for camping? How deep are these quarries and how cold/warm are they? Do many people dive with wetsuits?
Also, if we go would any of you more experienced divers mind if we followed you? We are PADI with eight dives each. However, I don't think we would want to dive too deep, although four of our dives were 70 - 110 feet. 70 was good, 110 was a little concerning.

Newbie? Not a problem. Quarries are great for that. The dives can be as challenging as YOU want to make them. Without an advanced card in Gilboa (or an instructor), you won't be able to legally go to the deep side. The shallow side only gets to about 60 ft. The other quarries in the area don't even get to 100 ft. (at least to my knowledge). I guide people around the shallow side of Gilboa quite a bit. Watching them discover the attacking trout is always entertaining. Again, I have far less experience with the other quarries in the area.
Most of the people attending camp out. I haven't seen us finalize the location yet, so I can't tell you what the prices are.
