For cave theirs Mine Lamott and Roubidoux(sp?) relatively nearby, but I'm not aware if they have cavern zones suitable for training...?

Off topic but Roubidoux has a fantastic cavern that would be fine for training when conditions are good.

It's big, shallow, lots of fish (trout, bass and pan fish) and lots of little nooks to explore. The view looking up at the entrance from the cavern can only be described as breath-taking.

Mike, can you recommend any good instructors with either NACD or NSS who teach cavern there...?

But I need to get some firm dates when you have them set.

Do you need to be anything more than OW cert for this place? I have looked at the web site breifly.

They are not gettign back to me - I suppose I'll hafta pick up the phone....

All you need is OW. But I'd recommend you have 20+ dives under your belt before going, or be comfortable in low-light/vis scenerios....

Thanks Netmage,

Hey, low vis to me is <3 feet!!! I guess there is some advantage to training and diving in the quarries here in Illinois, you get used to not seeing much!!

Dove in Ginnie Springs in Florida and it blew me away that I could see more than 20'!!!

Jeff

Tim,

How many dives/days are you figuring on?
Are you looking into staying at the mine's "bunkhouse" or whatever it's called?
Are you having fun yet?

I know it's 6 months later...but did you ever go to Bonne Terre Mines?

No, they never got back to me. Me and a few other folks in one of the local dive clubs are piggy backing on a trip run by Berry Dive Ctr middle of next month.
