Looking at his trim and body control, this might be due to inexperience...

Stick around for the credits and you'll see that the guy's an instructor.

:shakehead:

I believe the point of the video was to show that the gloves do not impeed normal activities such as deploying smb or lift bag, working with rope and, knots, heck the diver even used zip ties, etc. Not a video about this particular diver. RJP, by your standards then anybody with his type of fins, mask, wetsuit, freshwater diver, hair color, height, skin color, eye color, etc. etc. ad nauseum would be a bad diver. I am with scuba bob, please move along, unless you have something useful, which so far you do not. Your only interest "seems" to be antagonistic, and that is not useful. Granted your type of diving has no use for these gloves, but what about everyone else, or should we just do everthing you do and only what you do. Give the guy a break. I think Roy has been more than fair in what he offered and asked for in return. I wish I could say the same about you. Ultimately no matter how good a product, service, or person is there will always be someone like you who will be only to happy to bash just because they can.

Sigh.. this thread has gotten ugly.
MANY pages ago. ;)

Why am I not surprised to see a Darkfin user kneeling on the bottom, banging the aquatic plants with his fin tips, dragging gear around, bicycle kicking like crazy, and generally huffing and puffing like a maniac?

At least you've finally answered the "Who is the target audience?" question once and for all.

I'M JUST SAYIN

:D

Do you watch car commercials and complain that they're speeding? :eyebrow: :eyebrow: :eyebrow: :eyebrow: :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

Bad example, showing a speeding car shows it's performance capability. It's more like having a car fish tailing and swerving back and forth while speeding. It still shows the car's speed capability but also illustrates it's poor performance or at the very least, the drivers poor performance handling that car.

RJP, seriously I get it. You have zero use for the product, congrats... Now feel free to move along, seriously. I mean you've had your say and I'm not dismissing you out of hand, I've read and accepted your input but you aren't adding anything other than to your post count at this point.
Exactly. Apparently RJP has way too much time on his hands in order to waste so much time on something he claims to have absolutely no interest in!!! RJP are you out of work or something? Believe me, there are many threads on ScubaBoard that have no interest for me and I don't waste my time there.

I have to leave in a minute and don't have time to watch the video but Roy, it sounds like perhaps you want to shoot a new video if this one is getting so much negative attention.

Back on track, I'm headed to Boynton today for drift diving in swift currents. I'm going to see how my gloves might help me in slowing down or stopping in strong currents. Back atcha later. But a warning, if they are too hot I'm taking them off!

Roy has GRACIOUSLY offered to exchange my too small pair for the next size up as long as I pass my too small ones on to someone else who is sincerely interested in trying them. Any ladies here interested in a size 1?

I haven't read the thread, but saw these gloves in a picture. They might be good for a free diver or snorkeler but have absolutely NO place on a scuba diver.

Maybe they have no place in your gear kit but can you really say that there is ABSOLUTELY NO use for them in Scuba? I guess you know what's best for everyone who dives so handicapped divers shouldn't have access to this product? See how easy it is to debunk absolutes!

BTW, what gives you the right to dictate what does or doesn't belong in someone else's kit?

They have no use in scuba. Any, and every agency I know of teaches to not use the hands as a method of propulsion. These gloves only promote poor diving practices when used with SCUBA.

I could give a chit if they are in someones dive kit or if they use them. However, it will be an automatic sign that anyone using these things for SCUBA diving is an inexperienced diver with poor skills.

It's my RIGHT to express my opinion. It's your right to produce any hoopty product you wish.
