Maybe they have no place in your gear kit but can you really say that there is ABSOLUTELY NO use for them in Scuba? I guess you know what's best for everyone who dives so handicapped divers shouldn't have access to this product? See how easy it is to debunk absolutes!

BTW, what gives you the right to dictate what does or doesn't belong in someone else's kit?

In Randy's defense Roy McKinney himself basically told us in another one of his threads that if you did not use your hands while diving, you were doing it wrong. That was IMO the very clear message that went out. Talk about crazy absolutes. I agree that these are a GREAT addition for handicapped divers or free divers or snorkellers. I believe that everybody has the right to decide if they are "for them". However I will have more than words for the first diver that knocks me anywhere because they are propelling themselves with their hands.

....Not using your hands for surge control, directional changes or reverse motion would be the equivalent of a fish not using it's pectoral fins. Makes no sense. Someone please give me a good argument here.

These are wonderful for divers with special needs, but not for a diver with working legs and fins.

I would match the skills of these divers against any of you arrogant knotheads.
Since your not smart enough to figure it out, These divers were demonstrating the FACT that you COULD move faster if you needed to. No one is suggesting that you swim around at warp speed sucking up all of your gas.
I hope RJP, that you never get into a situation where you are depending on someone to resond to you in a life or death situation and they take their sweet ass time because they would'nt want to suck up to much gas or display improper form just to save your sorry butt.

You guys are so full of your self. WHAT HAVE YOU EVER DONE! No need to answer, I already know. NOTHING!

I know this,

If I was ever in trouble and needed assistance at 120 feet I would want this diver wearing these gloves and anything else, including a propeller sticking out of his rear end, that made him get to me faster. Not some ego tripping knucklehead with his fingers laced in front of him hoping someone is nearby noticing how percect he is. You should dive with a mirror.

<snicker>

Sorry but this response really does deserve that. I feel for you because you really believe in your product and many people just never will. Ignore them and at least that way you appear professional to those that are interested. Responses like this make me question whether I would want to buy from you even if your next product interested me (I may not matter to you but others that are not replying and simply moving on may). This is not intended as harsh.....just saying that as a business owner, you really should conduct yourself in a manner that maintains a certain level of professionalism....no matter how obtuse we posters may get.

I do hope you succeed and hope that your product helps those in need.

When you start a thread in an open forum, expect good posts and bad posts.

Everyones opinion, good and bad, is relevant and should not be discarded. If you like this product, what gives you the right to tell someone that doesn't like it to stop posting and go elsewhere? Negative comments should be accepted just as well as positive. This is not directed toward the OP, it's directed at contributors of this thread.

Off my soapbox... I have to agree, these look pointless for diving, just because of how I was trained and how I've tried using my arms in the past while diving, quite frankly, using your arms while diving is exhausting! BUT, this product could change that. I would try them if given the opportunity, what's the harm in trying something new? Maybe you will look like an idiot flailing your arms underwater... Who cares? If you wash your car everyday because you care what your neighbors think... then don't try it. Otherwise, why not?

Now, would I pay $25 for this? Depends. Why? It's new, I'm not sure it would apply in my type of diving and I've never ever seen it in person. But, if someone around me had a pair and could recommend them and they could tell me they are useful and well worth it, then Yes, I could see myself buying a pair.

I'm open minded and willing to try most anything once, send me a pair and I'll test them out, do a review and tell you what I really think. I'm heading to a large quarry next weekend and can let others try them out as well. I even have a friend with one arm that could try one out, although his hands are bigger than mine :D

Arrogant? Hey, I'm just suggesting you rethink that vid.

You seem to be taking this a bit personally. RJP has brought up valid points that any thinking diver would raise. Your personal attacks hardly help your case.

I appreciate your efforts and passion for your product and hope it finds a market. While I don't believe that market is mainstream SCUBA, I do see a value and hope you are able to exploit that.

Wow, very unexpected post... Quite disappointing too.

You've let the "knotheads" get the best of you. :shakehead:

I agree with your comment Steve. I would also note, that usually a pack of ******* do not decend on a companies product forum, it is not really the place for it. Having said that, Roy has total control of this thread, and could have deleted the negative comments as well. That says a lot about his character.

It is clear the product is not for everyone or for every dive. It is also clear that the ******* are coming out of the woodwork. I am evaluating the gloves, there is nothing wrong with new things... At one time or another every piece of every thing which exists was "new" and "different".

The person for example who thinks that diving has been fully developed and there will never be anything new, no new or adjusted skills, because diving has been fully advanced. Based on that standard, all of you DIR, HOG, and all this other crap which has developed since I got certified is also all hogwash.

It is simply amazing to see all the bashing on these web sites. Before there was a cave dive class, a DIR class, etc. There were a group of divers, breaking the "rules" and designing and modifying gear to suit their purposes. Had they been met with a pack of bashers, perhaps such advances would have been abandoned and the end result we would have higher diver death rates, crappier equipment, no DIR, HOG diving, etc. The point is, that having an open mind is an advantage, and simply dismissing anything that does not suit you out of hand really only demonstrates "fill in the blank" I could go on all day, but I hope I made my point.

Relax Roy,

There is and always be a segment of divers that recoil at any suggestion that challenges their paradym of SCUBA. Personally, I find these narrow views of how a diver must behave pretty humorous.

This old quote may apply: "Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time, and it annoys the pig."
