I'm looking for some books on the Great Lakes. Something like Deloach's book that he did on FL. I would like to come up there some time and get some dives so I'm starting to gather info. What would you recommend?

Thanks
Steve

I'd recommend "The Great Lakes Diving Guide" by Cris Kohl. It includes info on hundreds of wrecks throughout the Great Lakes. There is usually just a short paragraph about each wreck, but useful - gives depth info and novice-intermediate-advanced-technical designations. (You look like you're pretty experienced, but I'm pretty new so I like to know which are the novice dives!)

"Diver's Guide to Michigan" by Steve Harrington has also proven very helpful. Gives some longer descriptions and also info on typical visibility. But of course, it focuses on Michigan rather than the Great Lakes at large.

I'll second that. Great reference book, especially since wrecks are about the only reason to dive the Great Lakes.
