Well, Due to family being in town on Sunday, I'm not going to be able to dive then....BUT, I WILL be there all day Saturday. (If I can help it.)

P.S.
Yes, birthday parties are way cool.
Mine is Tomorrow.

Well Happy flippin' Birthday!! Hope you get lots of loot, & hope to see you Saturday. After 85 plus temps at Venice last Saturday I am ready to get wet & COLD again. Someone said that they recorded a water temperature of 90 that day! That is obscene to say the least. So maybe I am not the typical warm water weenie after all.
I just prefer to feel refreshed when I end my dive.

I agree Fool, Venice was fun, but the cool springs in the Fla. summer heat are :dazzler1:

There's just something about dropping into cool, clear, drinkable water on a hot day that makes up for lack of sea life, etc. I've done the springs many times and still always enjoy them. It's a different kind of fun/diving from the reefs and wrecks, but variety is always nice...

Hi everyone!! I'm new in SCUBA, was just cerified in Belize a couple months ago, I've logged 11 dives since. Anyway, I'm driving down to the springs from ATL this evening and will likely stay until Sunday, but I don't have a clue about the springs nor a dive buddy. Any chance someone would be willing to give me a couple pointers or buddy up on a dive or two?

I've posted a few links on another thread listing some resources for that area. Just scroll down to post #7.

Another great resource is Ned Deloach's book, Underwater Florida. The tenth edition is the current one, and it's available in most dive shops in Florida. Here's the entry for it on Amazon.com:

It's a great reference and covers most fresh and saltwater sites around the state.

Good luck and safe ascents,
Grier

Artmeister - PM me and I can give you some info on some diver buddies I have in Atlanta, maybe you can hook up and have a beer one night and chat about diving. They've been diving about a year and been in Atlanta about 3 months.

I plan to arrive at Ginnie mid to late morning on Saturday the 3rd. I will leave mention at the desk of ScubaBoard, but it would be nothing short of a miracle for those poor beleagured souls to remember me. Look for a red '98 Explorer Sport with sticker in the back window in the shape of the state of Florida with the red & white dive flag across it. My name is David, my wife's name is Dawn.
