I am intrigued by the Venice trip and schedule permitting, I will attend. It has been on my to do list for a while.

It is with a sad heart that we will be cancelling the ScubaBoard Spring Megadive...​

Dang I was afraid of this news.. But, those that have been going for years have seen the writing on the wall.. Too bad for Ginnie. They will lose a lot of business. Their loss.

As far as diving LBTS, BHB, keys, Venice, etc. is there is that thing called weather. We've talked about it for years, an alternative to Ginnie even with all their rules, but every where else had bigger issues... I'd LOVE to see us dive down here, but geesh, the weather. wind..

and bring the new divers into the community.
So we are planning a Venice Beach Bash to help to fill the void.

Seriously though, it's happened so many times, we plan an event then no diving because the weather didn't want to play nice..

It is with a sad heart that we will be canceling the ScubaBoard Spring Megadive.
At this time with Ginnie Spring's new rules in place, we can't support the event.

I heard from some folks in the cave diving community that they are also being chased out of Ginnie. Apparently there was a large group of cave divers that have an annual event on one of the holiday weekends each year. They've also been made aware that they were unwelcome just like we were. The impression that group had was that Ginnie preferred tubers/college kids etc.

I only post it because it made me feel a little better to know our group wasn't specifically targeted. Maybe it will make some of you feel better as well.

Hopefully Ginnie will eventually realize that turning away money is not a good business decision and they'll take steps to reclaim divers as customers.

The cave is on public property. Anyone can take a boat up the river and dive the cave.

Yeah, that's the same situation Hospital Hole is in. Occasionally people dive hospital hole, but it's a pain in the butt so most people do not.
