I have a Sherwood Oasis reg that I use with a pony when I do some deep spearfishing. Yesterday, while looking at it, I noticed it had developed some kind of corrosion (looks kind of a pale greenish color). I service it almost yearly, but hey, I know, I haven't been treating it fine lately...

Do you know how can I get rid of that and what is it?

Thanks!

or a 50/50 mix of toilet bowl cleaner and water. Rinse with fresh water and blow dry with clean air.

Make sure you take the unit apart before soaking.

You could use a light brass bristled brush to clean the corrosion off. Its inevitable to get some corrosion on it, just the way a DIN valve works. The salt water just sits on those threads the whole dive. You should be able to clean it up though...

Also, I read somewhere else about Hot Vinegar...
Should I give it a try or is it fine with normal white vinegar?

I dont know about HOT vinegar, but just plain vinegar would work. Its slightly acidic and would eat up any corrosion. I guess if it was hot, it might work better??? I dont know...
