Thanks for all the input so far!

Much appreciate. Need to look into all that in more detail

I understand using "Notes" I think - the way @drrich2 indicated - in an Android kind of way (currently).

I understand bookmarking, I just don't see the trees in the bookmarking forest anymore...
Or is there a way to structure bookmarks?

Pen and paper... yes that could work , but not for me. Not searchable enough, not "mobile enough".

@2airihuman: Evernote... hmm, they even sent me spam about just that, i just never used it yet... I will give that a look... likely before signing up to FB...

@tbone1004 : yes, printing real keepers to PDF and saving that (in a way it will be found again - my particular issue...) does make sense, as stuff on the net just is not permanent... And good point about using google search instead of the search inside a website... Need to up my google-fu...
BTW, I had to google "one-drive" and only then went "oh yeah, I may have free storage set-up there too, that I never used yet... - good point to keep it in the cloud as supposed to manually updating across various computers and portable devices.

Now, @Lorenzoid : You got me! Or you are even more mental than me ?:wink:?
Why didn't I have that thought? Mental notes!
- As in just remember it Dude ...???:wink:
Is that what you're saying (if so, sorry, while I have a big head, the internet is bigger and has me beat in that department - I remember a lot, but recently I am noticing that method is starting to fail me a bit...) - if so, kudos to you!
- or how should I understand...?

I'm old school.
I have my "scuba notes" book and I write down there precious info, key points and others notions, concepts and knowledges that may (or may not) one day be useful.
These info are from different sources: books, websites, etc.
The act of writing itself works on my memory.
When something doesn't sound right, I just ask to more experienced diver to see what's their opinion on the topic.

Make sub-, and sub sub-folders in your main bookmark folder. I do this for other subjects, not just diving.

I didn't mean to be flippant, but I suppose I do deserve the ribbing. Okay, take drrich's example above, in which he related how he recalled some info from a thread and plugged it into Google. I figure that if it's something I cannot remember enough information about to find using Google, then it's either been so many years that the information is outdated, it's no longer posted in the same place on the Internet (i.e., saving the link would have been useless), or it wasn't THAT important in the first place. (The option to start a new thread, whether here on SB or other forums, and ask the question is always there.) When I come across a true golden nugget on SB, I do tend to remember just enough information to find it again, even a few years later, with Google.

Maybe what I'm trying to say is that the human mind is a useful filter. Kind of like the old adage to not be a packrat: if something isn't going to be of use to you in the next couple of years, get rid of the junk.

If it is really important, you will be able to find it again.

This is what I do as well. Not necessarily for my SB links, but for other things.

As an example, I have a bookmark with my photography links in it, but I enjoy different aspects of photography, so it is laid out with a general area and a couple sub-folders. Kind of like this:

Bookmarks
-->Photo Stuff
------> Underwater Photography
------> US Southwest Landscape
------> Night Photography
-->Travel
------> US Southwest
------> Moab
------> Page AZ
------> Dive Sites/Locations
------> Mach Loop / Jedi Transition

You can make the folders as general or as specific as you need to ensure that you will see just the right cue to get you to the right link.

Totally unrelated to diving, but here is the type of video that can be shot in "Jedi Transition" area of "Star Wars Canyon" if you are there at the right time and on the right day.

If it's something I really want to save, I will copy and paste into a Word doc and save it. Or maybe screen shots. Depends on what it is. Then I will save it multiple places so I don't lose it!

on here i bookmark certain threads and stick in my diving bookmark folder. i do alot of my browsing on my phone so if i find a certain bit of text i wanna save or a running list i use google docs its like notepad sorta i can get to it from phone or computer as its connected to google drive. I really like google docs and google drive cause i can add users who can see the items or i can share a link to it. nice for sharing service manuals and parts lists between techs in the field as service manuals are pretty much impossible to email due to size
