I do weighting on my Genesis different than anyone else. I go back and forth between salt and fresh, too. I also use it as an underwater workhorse towing trees, platforms and statues. I don't use any internal weights. I made Individual lead shot pouches with 2in tube webbing. in a mix of weights. I have 4 rubber tank bands on the DPV shell. I slide the weighted pouches under the rubber bands and move forward or rearward and left or right to get the exact trim I want. I have stickers on the DPV to let me know what weight for the different attachments I may add. So it's just sliding the correct weights under the bands. It works for me. So simple and quick. Adding a mirror on the DPV allows me to see any gear problems and lets me check on my buddy without turning my head.

It's tempting to go external since adding something like a GoPro needs a retrim and I literally have no other reason to open it.
Plus on mine (older 1200) I find that internal weights don't have the torque to offset the weight of the handle so it rotates down.
