As sad as this is I could see it being made into a life time movie.
Well between this thread and others, the dive community has already written a novel about the accident. It even includes conspiracy, back stabbing, and alternate endings.
I kept up with it the first few weeks, but as of late have been away. Its sounds like the poor man is still missing, and it has yet tbd if Vortex was negligent with the key, or if the lock was jimmied or a countefiet cave card was used. The missing diver posted his dive plan to his Facebook page. Some mysterious Eastern European cave diver was with the missing diver a few hours before his disappearance and has posted videos of the diver on U-tube. and now some people are upset that so many rescources are being consumed to find him. And even in the midst of this Vortex is open for business and doing well. Has this all proved to be correct? There must be something new that I cant find or this thread would have dried up.
Thanks to anyone who can correct or add to my brief summary.
That pretty much sums it up. Jax summed it up pretty well in this recent post:

Here is the summary in my mind...
- He's still missing. Many experienced cave divers have stated that he physically could not be beyond the areas they have searched in the back of the cave because it's too small for any human to fit. Family seems to think the cave divers just aren't brave enough to go where their son was going.
- It's possible he is still elsewhere in the cave...or anywhere outside of the cave. It's certainly a mystery.
- Many of the same cave divers helped drag an ROV and its tether into the cave for the Sherriff, but of course it couldn't fit in the smaller areas that the divers have already searched. At least the people on the surface got to see a little bit of what the cave divers are up against.
- It's believed by most that he was bypassing the gate on his own. He was doing at least some of his dives outside of Vortex business hours so this makes sence.
- Posted plan on Facebook and it was a plan that was likely to end badly.
- Not sure the Russian/Eastern European diver has much to do with this other than he caught the victim on video shortly before the accident (days?, hours?).
No new useful info in quite a while. Maybe come back in a month or so. We'll either be talking about where he was found or...debating if cats or dogs make better pets.
