Hello-

I have a MK2s and I. When I look in the dive log and get the entry and exit positions they are in a decimal degrees format. I would like to change the format to match my other electronics and the most common format for marine use, degrees decimal minutes. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you,

You can do this many ways. You can put into Google and it will sometimes give you alternate format. You can enter into OpenCPN map system and then change the format to what you want and it will convert it. You can also get software that will convert.

Yeah, can't do that at the moment. I did have a need to use the dive exit and add it to my boat chart plotter as a waypoint. Easiest was to temporarily switch the chart plotter to Decimal Degrees. Worked perfectly, and got me to the spot.

Otherwise, in a pinch, this just requires multiplying the fraction part by sixty. Twice, if you want degrees, minutes, seconds.

E.g. 59.12345 decimal degrees: take 0.12345 * 60 = 7.407, so you have 7 minutes. Take 0.407 * 60 = 24.42 seconds. Add them together, 59° 07' 24.42". (Or stop halfway for 59° 07.407' if that's the format you want.)
