To the early adaptors (daily users), do you notice any aging? Does the battery still goes as long as when you first startet using the mk2(i)
I have had mine since release and it seems to be going just as strong.

This was a good thread - thanks for all the info. I am a recreational diver, not likely going to get into tech, etc and need to replace my old puck. I currently wear an Apple watch

I have it down to getting a wrist wearable device and likely a Teric or a MK2i. Both are more computer than i will need. The garmin definitely is a better everyday watch. i am pretty happy with my apple watch and will not use a lot of the extras/data on the garmin.

i can charge both the apple and the teric on the same charger.

I like that the garmin transmitter will make AI of my partner's tank more consistent due to the distance that the transmitter will work but then we are locked into a garmin product (and she will never wear a MK2i)

I think the sonar ping will bug me - does using the low power setting and a longer hp hose really alleviate the issue?

Indeed. Any Qi charger will work. My roommate dives with both a Teric and a Peregrine. She couldn't find her chargers, but I have Qi chargers all over the place to charge my Samsung phone. Bingo!

Shearwater now specifically recommends against using aftermarket chargers. They claim it causes battery problems.

This is an about face as they used to list aftermarket chargers confirmed to work in their SB forum.

I think you left “against” out.

I’ve been using only a battery pack with QI for charging my Teric’s, and for me this is working great, I don’t charge very often, charging to 100% and recharging when in the 20% range, approximately 8% used per dive day usually consisting of two 80 to 90 minute dives.

I think some QI charger are over powered.

This is what Divetronix told me the last time I had to have my battery replaced, and they said not to use random Qi chargers. Another potential issue was that the induction coil of the "taco" style charger may not always make appropriate contact with the teric coil. They sent me a flat peregrin charger, and I have not had any issues so far.

That was my assumption and conclusion too, I can’t even remember when I last used the original charger, I stopped because the aluminum cover I have on one of mine is a pain to remove, the cover is completely unnecessary but I like the color

Do you know if I can charge my Apple Watch on the flat peregrine charger?

It shouldn't matter: the receiver is supposed to ask for the power it wants (by modulating the EM field) and if both sides are compliant, Tx will never pour more juice than Rx asks for.
