larry volunteered to beta test at dema, right to their faces...crickets.

they just aren't that into it.

As you might recall from my previous post, SP said the firmware should be available "after the holidays"

Sooo.. Its after the holidays and I dropped an email to SP asking them where I can download the firmware.. :blinking:

Looks like I won the $5 bet.. :rofl3:

They did NOT deliver on this promise either.. its getting rather embarrassing at this point.. I got this pretty vague response:

Happy New Year, Koos,
We are still waiting for the forms. We will be in contact when we can move forward with this project.

Best Regards,

Not sure what "Forms" they are waiting for.. must be some government run beaurocractic department of BS forms..

The saga continues..

Uwatec has contacted dealers in Germany looking for divers to beta test the Trimix software. The statement is that ca. 2 months after the test has finished the software will be released.

yeah, it seems this Trimix is still quite a while out and I have my doubts if it will EVER be released..

The one hand at ScubaPro doesnt know what the other is doing.... I asked about the forms and if there is a way to directly get hold of the firmware (i.e. sign up for being a beta test diver)..

This was the response today:

"Hi Koos,
It appears that I was incorrect and have the facts reversed, the forms have been approved but the software process is where the delay is. Unfortunately, I have no ETA as these things are handled in Europe.

I guess the European division is not up to speed with e-mails yet.

I don't own a Sol, so I don't have a dog in this fight.

Although, it seems I've seen this happen before. Scubapro regulator development came to a standstill...right after a couple of their engineers left and started Atomic.

And when did the UEMIS designers leave Uwatec? ...Just a thought.

All the best, James

Somehow, with all the capital at their disposal, they have been unable to produce a regulator that can function for two years with servicing. Last year, I started the precess of switching-over my inventory of regs to Atomic to avoid the hassle of it all...

very good point about when Ernst Vollm and crew left..

they have not had an update on the computers for almost 3 years..

it will be a joke if Uemis gets trimix before Galileo does..

won't surprise me either..

Ernst and crew are also struggeling with the Trimix update - makes me wonder if the issue is the ZHL-8 set of a/b values

It seems that also on BOOT ( biggest scubashow of Europe) Uwatec will show the trimixversion and will ask certified divers who owns a SOL to make some dives with the new algo.
So that means it is ready, it is tested in Lab and now they want to do an extra 1000 hours by divers.

I will have a talk to them upcomming show ( last week januari) and i drop down what they said.
