full suit or shorty?

Shorties are for jet skiers. If you're gonna wear a suit, wear a suit. I used a 7mil long in Key Largo last Dec. 3 mil may well be fine, 5 mil would have been better for me I think.

No way. Shorties are about 4 times easier to get on and off, can leave the computer on your wrist, take up less room, a pound less weight needed, tend to fit people better, easier to wash off, etc. Situational awareness can help avoid scrapes. I agree the full has advantages, but to discount shorties like that is incorrect. I have both (brand new full length given to me as a gift) and have used my shorty on 50 dives in the last year and the full length on one and hated it.
