Drysuit recommended for winter, hey? I was going to hook up with the folks from Coral Wetsuits and have them make me a nice 8mm... I hope that will do. I'm not sure I'm ready for a dry suit... But maybe thats just the way we thing about them here hehe
An 8mm suit will probably be fine if you plan on doing single dives or can handle a bit of cold. The info provided by others is pretty much spot on except that it can get down to 10 or 11 deg in False Bay, I have been diving here for over 25 years ......
Perhaps consider renting a 7mm suit from someone like Pisces Divers and see how that goes - Scuba Dive Cape Town - Pisces Divers, Cape Town, South Africa They are certainly one of the better dive operators / shops / training facilities around here.
I moved to a drysuit a few years ago and haven't looked back.
Scuba Africa that you have been recomended are out at Hermanus - not the best operator but I have used them in a pinch.
