I'm a Fish!
I found the last of the undiscovered mini-subs...I found it right next to the Corsair...unfortunatley my camera broke that day, and now it seems that the rough south side conditions have obliterated it...

Chumming for 15 minutes in blue water and then jumping in? Is that SOP for spearfishing?

Like ringing a dinner bell I'd think. Damn............................

Unless you do it in the Bahamas, then its "extreme diving"

Particularly since the article said he heard a "loud splash" before the chumming began.

Loud splash = big fish in my mind. I'd a thought this one through a bit more before passing out the hors d'oeuevres..........

i wish i could see a gws whenever i wanted; the dude sounds pretty lucky! who knows maybe next time he might see a gws coming at him on a nuclear warhead a la dr. strangelove.

I really liked the part where he said he didn't see the GW until it was only 100' away because of the murky conditions.

So the guy does everything he can to attract sharks, then seems surprised that one actually appears? I'm a little lost on that one.

My friend's southern grandmother use to always say, "God looks out for babies and fools"...this dude was definitely the latter.

The only GWS stories I've heard on the islands were in Maui. B& B Scuba has a photo of a GW that popped into Molokini Crater. Maui Dive Shop claims one of their boats pulled a kayaker from the water that was being bumped and trailed by a large GW.

Any confo on this??
