Well, my memory sucks but I think these are better prices than we saw when the new models first came out. The GPS store is offering the ACR 2921/400 for $300 and free shipping. ACR ResQLink 400 PLB – Floating Personal Locator Beacon

Or the ACR 2922/425 view for $350: ACR ResQLink View 425 PLB – Floating Personal Locator Beacon

The next two links are for Cabela company including free shipping to a local store which is only good if you have one of their stores nearby, but they are common across the US.

The ACR 400 unit for $300: ACR Electronics ResQLink 400 Buoyant Personal Locator Beacon : Cabela's

The ACR 425 View for $350: ACR Electronics ResQLink 425 Buoyant Personal Locator Beacon : Cabela's

Those are for US residents only as a PLB has to have your county code programmed at the time of purchase.

Of course, you'll still need a dive canister, silicone grease for the o-ring, attachment clips - then after a year or two o-ring replacement and after several years battery replacement, but this is a good start. Don't just take it diving tho. Carry it everywhere just in case, especially on backcountry hikes, etc.
