I was checking the Warranty where it mentioned modification voids warranty. But since I was directed here to see how to have an internal attachment point to either lid or canister to tether a plb, maybe 3m stick on or epoxy might not void? I would like a link to the 3m sticky to see how it could have a tether to inside the lid. Something like a dring that is attached to some round fabric with 3m stick? Thanks! I suppose the Dryfob mfr may chime in on this, thanks!
I wouldn't think an attachment epoxied or 3m stickied to the inside would be considered a modification, any more than using a large hose clamp on the outside as a mount is. I suspect that if you did anything near sealing surfaces, or machined anything (like a blind hole on the inside of the lid), then it would be "modified". @Jaan has already (up thread) mentioned the sticky pad approach (as a suggestion), but I'm sure he'll address the distinction between that and warranty voiding modification!

Good questions and we love seeing the ideas and discussions on the products use.
At DRYFOB we have two policies.
First, if within 90 days for whatever reason you decide against using your DRYFOB or don’t like what you see, you can return it for a no questions asked refund in the condition you received it. Please don’t glue stuff on it and send it back if you changed your mind.
Second, we warranty DRYFOB against manufacturing defects for a full 12 months. If such a problem arises we ask you to return the defective DRYFOB and we will replace or refund your purchase. Gluing lanyards or attaching stickers inside the unit, or using hose clamps or other attachments won’t void that. Modifications that could void our warranty would include anything like drilling, welding, machining, etc. Really anything that could interfere with sealing or reduce the strength of the housing. We believe in our product and have built our reputation around quality. It's pretty rugged and designed to last a long time.
As we don’t manufacture or supply any of the attachments, stickers, glues, or accessories we can’t warranty that these work as advertised. We encourage discussion and participate in the sharing of ideas here without any intended/implied endorsement as fellow divers. There are many more experienced divers than us on these threads and we appreciate those that has been willing to share their experience.

Coming from a background where one must be able to retrieve stowed mission essential equipment in the dark without the aid of illumination and losing kit is simply unacceptable, I like the idea of a low-profile VHB anchor point inside the lid as a failsafe to ensure I don’t lose positive control of the PLB.
Unscrewing the lid and using it to pull the PLB up out of the DryFob is a good technique to mitigate the probability of loss amidst limited ambient visibility, blowing winds, heavy waves, fatigue and anxiety. If I get stranded during flat seas and clear skies, great...but that's not how I plan or train nor an accurate reflection of my experiences over the past 28 years in real-world conditions.
When I get back to Florida and start diving again, I'll probably just train to leave the lid attached to the PLB by the same double-ender that I will use to hook the PLB onto one of my chest D-rings. The lid dangling there won't interfere with activation. I like @Altamira 's thought about rainwater collection.
If I think I might need to pretty myself up for the rescue mission where a panel of ScubaBoardians await my arrival so they can judge the dapperness of my kit configuration, I can do that after I've first secured my PLB and confirmed I've got a clean shot to satellites for sustained geo-location.

Pictures of how I bungee-mounted my small DryFob and the external bolt snap from the lid to secure it. However, I like @scubadada 's method better.

Hey @Regulated. The one in the picture is the large, the DRYFOB-XL fits like a glove in that one.

I got the small too, but it's more like a weight pocket. If you have the regular DRYFOB or DRYFOB-L for car keys, the small can work.
It's tight (you can still clip it closed but the Velcro doesn't reach).
