Ok, having read some responses on DIR DSMB stowing in the backplate pouch I want to give it another go.

Does anyone have a link to instructions on exactly how to fold and stow the DSMB so that it's actually possible to retrieve the thing underwater?

Have to be registered to see it...

If the SMB is small enough, store it in your dry suit pocket. I have a dedicated spool that is always attached to the bag. Both fit in a pocket nicely. There are plenty of "pouches" out there that you can attach to you BP. Halcyon sells one.
