HI All,
How good is Florida for the big stuff ? When is the best season ? Are sharks guaranteed and it what kind of numbers ? What is the cost of day diving and what are the accommodation options ?
Any info much appreciated

Thanks for that i will check it out.

Oh yeah...we got big stuff.

check out the most experienced dive op that runs out of Jupiter and Palm Beach at www.stuartscuba.com
on my last couple of dives we've had lemon sharks, several hammerheads, a bunch of bull sharks, a couple of tigers and more reef and nurse sharks than I can count. Not to mention lots of turtles and Goliath Grouper. Jupiter is my favorite place to dive because of the wealth of big life.

I'll be in Jupiter in August with 8 of my dive buddies to see this:

And while we are in the neighborhood, also we won't miss seeing the little critters:

Jupiter has the best reputation for big fish: sharks and Goliath groupers. I have seen schooling Goliath grouper at Jupiter. They school in August. It is deep diving about 85' to the top of the ledge.

Lemon Shark aggregation occurs in Jupiter from about the end of December through the beginning of March. Goliath Grouper aggregation occurs in August and September, in my experience there is more activity in September. Goliath Grouper aggregation in Jupiter is very good, however, my favorite site is the wreck of the Castor in Boynton Beach. Reef Sharks and occasionally, others, are seen in Jupiter year round
